Tekarna (4e Variant Rule)

You have gleamed some learning of mechanical things; of gears, cogs, whistles and steam. This knowledge covers arcane mechanics such as alchemy or the lore of constructs. It also represents proper, academic study.

Tekarna (Intelligence)


Mechanical Knowledge

Make a Tekarna check to recall interesting tidbits of information relating to mechanical things or to recognize mechanical things. See "Knowledge Checks" on page 180.


Monster Knowledge: Constructs

Make a Tekarna check to identify and recall information about creatures of the Construct type. See "Monster Knowledge Checks" on page 180.


Identify Alchemy

Standard Action DC: 20 + one-half the items level. You must be able to see or otherwise detect the outcome of the items affects. Success: You identify the Alchemical item. Failure: You cannot try and identify the item again until after an extended rest.


Hear the Gears, Smell the oil

1 Minute DC: 10 + one-half the level of items, creature or phenomenon. You must be able to see or otherwise detect the outcome of the items affects. Area of Detection: 5 + your level. You can detect mechanical phenomenon through doors, walls floors and other surfaces.
