Tabaxi Features
All Tabaxi have certain traits in common, regardless of their evolutionary variations. You gain the following traits in addition to those granted by your subrace. Traits with no description are official content for the Tabaxi playable race, as published in Volo's Guide to Monsters.
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2.
Age.
Alignment.
Size. Tabaxi range from under 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall, with males generally being taller and more robust than females. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision.
Cat’s Claws. Climbing speed of 20feet; claws are natural weapons that can be unarmed strikes doing slashing damage equal to 1d4 + STR modifier.
Feline Agility. During combat, you can move up to double of your speed but then you can only use it again after you use 0 feet of movement on one of your turns.
Cat's Talent. Get proficiency on both Perception and Stealth skills.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
Subrace. Tabaxi are as varied as their primal kin. Their fur, temperaments, and abilities vary greatly depending on their native environment and ancestral species. Choose one of the four subraces below to indicate your Tabaxi’s evolutionary traits.
Tabaxi Subraces
Mountain Tabaxi
The Tabaxi of the mountainous tribes are a hardy, spiritual people. Teeming with culture and tradition, these secluded tribes rarely interact with outsiders, and instead rely on their own knowledge and traditions to see their people through the bitter winters and over the merciless terrain of the mountains they call home.
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 1.
High Altitude. You gain resistance to cold damage.
Rocky Road. You ignore difficult terrain that is the result of snow, ice, rock or natural ground.
Iceborn. You have been raised in the bitter cold atop the snow capped mountains, and the cold remains within you wherever you go. You know the Frostbite cantrip.
Elder Tutelage. You have proficiency in the Arcana skill.
Grassland Tabaxi
The Tabaxi of the grassland tribes are a fierce and bold people. Living in such desolate lands, the Tabaxi of the grasslands have adapted a more primal lifestyle in order to survive, seizing any opportunity and creating many of their own, in order to prosper.
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 1.
Savannah Strider. Your base walking speed increases to 35 feet.
Mask of the Wild. You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena.
Apex Predator. You live for the hunt. When you reach 3rd level you can cast the Hunter's Mark spell as a 1st level spell once with this trait, and you regain the ability to cast it this way when you finish a long rest.
Hidden Fangs. You have proficiency in the Deception skill.
Jungle Tabaxi
The Tabaxi of the jungle tribes are a wild and free-spirited people. Living even more secluded lives than their mountain kin, the jungle-dwelling tribes are rarely seen venturing outside of their native habitat, and instead live off of the bountiful harvest of the untamed terrain they call home.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 1.
Nine Lives. You can fall for 10 feet without suffering fall damage, and up to 30 feet taking only half damage.
Pounce. As a bonus action, you can leap up to 20 feet to an unoccupied space that you can see that is within 5 feet of a creature. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.
Wild Soul. You have tamed the wild magic of the jungle. You know the Thorn Whip cantrip.
Grace of the Jungle. You have proficiency in the Athletics skill.
Forest Tabaxi
The Tabaxi of the forest tribes are a generous and loyal people. More closely connected to the outside world than their reclusive kin, the Tabaxi of the forests welcome outsiders and trade, believing that they can impart their knowledge and beliefs upon those they forge bonds with, thus reducing the misunderstandings between their people and outsiders.
Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Jungle Weapon Training. You have proficiency with the longbow, shortbow, spear and scimitar.
Wild Soul. The forest is your home, and it’s bounty is yours for the taking. If there is edible forage or clean drinking water within a 100-foot-radius of your current location, you know it and where to find it. Additionally, you have advantage on Survival checks made to identify and follow tracks in forests.
Hunter’s Instinct. No matter how domesticated and civilized you become, there will always be wild blood coursing through your veins. You know the Primal Savagery cantrip.
Scavenger. You have proficiency in the Survival skill.
Urban Tabaxi
Urban Tabaxi Features
The Tabaxi that were born in the big cities had to learn the hard way to deal with crime and the not so friendly guards. They are especially sneaky on their ways through the dark corners and rooftops as they develop a more convincing language to get away from trouble when running is not an option.
Abilities. Your Charisma score increases by 2 and your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Age. Tabaxi have lifespans equivalent to humans.
Alignment. Tabaxi tend toward chaotic alignments, as they let impulse and fancy guide their decisions. They are rarely evil, with most of them driven by curiosity rather than greed or other dark impulses.
Size. Tabaxi range from under 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall, with males generally being taller and more robust than females. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision You have a cat's keen senses, especially in the dark. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
