Owl Kin

"'Hey, it's that simple!' Nocturne said cheerfully to his child 'Hunting prey is that easy!' The young owl humanoid replied, 'Why can't we just get food from the inn like yesterday?' the boy tilted his head completely to the side. 'Life isn't easy, and one day this place will burn, or something...you need to train for doomsday, okay?"'

Physical Description

Owl Kin are lean, winged, owl-like humanoids. They range from many different colors: White, brown, and black to name a few. Their eyes are about the same as humans, but the main thing different about them is their owl sense. They have a beak, wings, and talons.

Owl Kin Names

Many Owl Kin names are built from pieces of words about anarchy, the end of civilization, or words for "night."

Male: Cataster, Apoco, Anarch, Mobrul

Female: Lun, Chaost, Disrega, Eventide

Unisex: Gloom, Duski, Midnight, Ithil

Owlkin Traits

A half owl, half humanoid mix, always worrying about the ending of the Realms.
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and your Intelligence score increases by 1.
Age. Most owl kin mature at age 10, considered adults at 15, and generally live to the age of 90. Very rarely, some owl kin have been known to live up to 120 years.
Alignment. Owl kin are often kind and sweet to others, and will do whatever it takes to help them. They usually stick to a good or neutral alignment, with some leaning toward chaotic alignments. There is a scarce amount of evil owl kin.
Size. Owl kin are usually 4 and a half feet, and none exceed 6 feet. Your size is: Medium
Speed. Your base walking speed is 35 feet, and you have a base flying speed of 40 feet.
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray..
And I Feel Fine. You have advantage on Survival checks.
Odd Bird. You have disadvantage on Persuasion checks against city dwelling targets.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.

Snowy

You have traits similar to snowy owls.

Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 1.
Snowdweller. Your thick plumage is deigned for extremely cold environments. You have resistance to cold damage.
Piercing Eyes. Your eyes are a sharp yellow color, which is slightly off-putting to others. You gain advantage on An ability score was not entered for this template! checks.

Pygmy

You have a smaller stature than most owl kin, but you are still a force to be reckoned with.

Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom increases by 1.
Size. You are between 1 to 2 feet tall. Your size is Tiny.
Holedweller. You gain +1 to Stealth checks.
Tiny Terror. With a smaller body, your rage becomes concentrated. You gain advantage on attack rolls against creatures larger than yourself.
