Magicborn
When entities from the far realm try to do almost anything, it can reshape the world in a certain fashion. Occasionally, this results in the creation of intelligent beings, called magicborn.
Physical Description
Magicborn often resemble other races, mainly humans, though they might have a quirk if some kind, such as their skin and eyes taking on a certain abnormal hue.
History
Created by beings from the far realm, mainly without those beings noticing, magicborn have varied history, not so much a race as completely separate beings created in a similar way.
Society
Often, magicborn go their whole life not even knowing what they are. It is incredibly rare for them to ever even hear about another of their kind. Magicborn do not have a particular society.
Magicborn Names
Magicborn often are considered orphans, and those who take them in give them names according to the adopted parent’s race.
Magicborn Traits
Do to your otherworldly creation, you gain the following traits.
Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 2 and your Charisma score increases by 1.
Age. Magicborn have a lifespan and maturity rate somewhat similar to elves, reaching adulthood at around 100 years and living around 750.
Alignment. Magicborn alignment varies greatly, although often they are chaotic.
Size. Similar to Humans, Magicborn vary widely in height, from less than 4 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Regardless of height, Magicborn are always abnormally slender. Your size is Medium. You may alternatively choose a race, and gain the size and height and weight table of that race.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Magicborn prowess. You gain the weapon proficiencies of any one race that you choose.
Blessing of the far realm. You gain Psionic abilities comparable to that of the gith. You know the message and mage hand cantrips, with the hand being invisible, even if you do not wish it to be. At third level, you may cast Tasha‘s hideous laughter at it’s lowest level once with this trait without expending a spell slot. When you reach twelfth level, you may cast the Telekinesis spell once with this trait without expending a spell slot. Any spells of first level or higher that you cast with this trait you regain the ability to use when you finish a long rest.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
