While your slash looks over the top and unnecessary, it leaves you in stance that makes it easy to parry.
4e Power Usage::Daily  Martial, Elemental, Weapon
4e Power Action Type::Standard Action Melee Weapon
Requirement: You must be calling the spirit of water.
Target: One creature.
Attack: Dexterity Vs. AC
Hit: 2[W] + Dexterity modifier damage.
Effect: You enter a stance which gives you +2 power bonus to your AC until the next time that you move, shifting does not break the stance.
