Crossbow Expert, Variant (5e Feat)

This is intended to replace the 5e Crossbow Expert feat. It also uses the 5e variant rule Revised Two-Weapon Fighting.

Crossbow Expert, Variant

Crossbows can be tricky weapons, but you have mastered them with extensive practice. You gain the following benefits:

  • You become proficient in one type of crossbow of your choice.
  • You ignore the loading property of crossbows with which you are proficient.
  • If you are wielding a crossbow, being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn't impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls with the weapon.
  • If you make a ranged attack with a crossbow in your off-hand while two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack if you are unable to so already.
