This page is of questionable balance. Reason: Doesn't seem to be any point in using this rule, as there is a 5% chance of decreasing the price but a 50% chance of increasing the price. This is best handled through DM adjudication and roleplaying.

You can help D&D Wiki by better balancing the mechanics of this page. When the mechanics have been changed so that this template is no longer applicable please remove this template. If you do not understand balance please leave comments on this page's talk page before making any edits.

Bartering

Bartering is performed using a Charisma (Persuasion) contest between buyer and seller. Price multipliers in the table below are applied to the base price outlined in the rulebook or other documents. The buyer's roll result determines the multiplier, with a success as rolling higher than the seller.

Table: Price Multiplier
ResultMultiplier
Nat 201/2x
Success +3 to +5 of DC.75x
Success upto +2 of DC (Default)Standard AMT
Fail (Default)1.5x
Nat 12x
