Trainer card can mean several different things across the Pokémon franchise:

Trainer Card (game), the identification card used by a Pokémon Trainer in the main series Pokémon games
Trainer card (TCG), a class of cards that typically have some effect on the field, often depicting a non-Pokémon character from the series
