The Metal Powder (Japanese: メタルパウダー Metal Powder) is a type of held item introduced in Generation II. It boosts the Defense stat of a Ditto that holds it.

Generation II

If held by a Ditto, increases its Defense and Special Defense by 50%, even when transformed.

In Pokémon Stadium 2, Metal Powder only increases Ditto's Defense and Special Defense when it is not transformed.[1]

Generation III onward

If held by a Ditto, doubles its Defense stat. It does not work when Ditto is transformed.
