Effect

Generations V to VII

Chip Away inflicts damage, ignoring any changes to the target's Defense and evasion stat stages - positive and negative. It does not ignore changes to stats that do not use stat stages, such as Reflect, Abilities such as Sand Veil, or items such as Eviolite. It also does not ignore changes to the user's Attack or accuracy.

Generation VIII

Chip Away cannot be selected in a battle.
