Reason: DX price

In Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, Blast Burn is a move with 30 base power, 8 PP and 84% accuracy. The user targets adjacent enemies, including frozen ones (thawing them out in the process); this move's damage is doubled at the end of calculation. If the move hits at least one target successfully, the user is inflicted with Paused status condition for 1-2 turns, preventing them from acting on these turns. This move is affected by Muzzled status condition.

In Explorers of Time and Darkness and Explorers of Sky, the move's PP is decreased to 6.

Since Blast Burn is exclusively a tutor move in main series, it is taught differently in Mystery Dungeon:

Super Smash Bros. series

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, Blast Burn is a custom variant of Charizard's Flare Blitz. When used, Charizard will briefly charge up before rushing at the opponent. When the move makes contact, it creates an explosion that sends the opponent flying, and Charizard takes recoil damage. Compared to Flare Blitz, Blast Burn is much more powerful, but the recoil damage is higher and the move travels slowly for a short distance.

Pokémon GO

In Pokémon GO, Blast Burn is a Charged Attack that has been available since May 19, 2018.
